Declutter and donate!

Wednesday, June 10, 2020

In recent months, we have all had to find new ways of doing things, and thanks to this there now exists a great new opportunity to help the Rehearsal Orchestra at this difficult time – without paying a penny!

Most of us are still spending a lot of time at home, and many have taken the chance to tidy up and go through their cupboards – or are perhaps thinking that they ought to, but haven’t quite got round to it yet… Whilst charity shops are still closed, there is now an easy way to sell your unwanted books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and games, and donate their trade-in value to the Rehearsal Orchestra. And if you are a UK taxpayer you can add Gift Aid, which increases the value of the donation by 25%!

All this is possible because Virgin Money Giving have partnered with Ziffit, a free online service which allows you to trade in your unwanted items and donate their value to charity – they’ll even send a courier to collect the items from your front door! (Minimum weight for free collections is 5 kg.)

To donate through Ziffit, use this link and enter the barcodes of your items to start your trade-in. Or you can download the Ziffit app onto your smartphone, scan your items and select the Rehearsal Orchestra at checkout. Easy-peasy… so don’t wait – declutter and donate!
